So I am slightly delayed in starting to document our adventures. I will do a synopsis, and when I can, I will add more info from Tom & Johnny.
15 July 2011 - moved out of the house, renters moved in. Stuart and Leslie are absolutely lovely, which makes me so happy. I know our house will be in great hands. Gavin is up north - Grandparents, camp etc, so Tom & I will be traveling nomads until we leave. Tom will mainly be at Mike & Cathy's place - love them for letting us use their house. I will be between their house and my parents cottage in Muskoka.
4 August 2011 - Tom, Johnny and Woody (dog) set off in the van for Panama. Yes, they are driving. Kind of crazy, but they are so looking forward to the adventure. Hopefully they will not have any problems, especially with the dog. Woody is along to make things easier at the borders, but somehow I am not sure that is what is going to happen. Going to miss them lots! They need to be in Panama by the 20th, that is when Andrew is flying down to join them. So they have given themselves a lot of time. Stopping in LaGrange, Georgia, for some golf with Pete. Once I get all the stories about the drive, I will put them in. Johnny has a new video camera, so hopefully I will be able to add some great pics as well.
16 August 2011 - The boys arrived in Panama today. From the bits and pieces I have heard, it was an interesting drive. Honduras and Nicaragua were not places they wanted to linger. Apparently officials are quite corrupt in all places, but these were especially corrupt. A great deal of money passed hands to get in and out. Now Gavin and I need to get there. Boys are having a boys week once Andrew lands, Gavin & I fly in on the 26th. Can't wait!!!
